Christmas Singalong this Friday [December 14] at 7.30 pm

This event is being repeated this year by popular request following last year’s event.

It is an informal evening of singing, swaying, rattling or whatever you feel like with an eclectic mix of Christmas music supported by Liz Knott on guitar and vocals and Di Owen on flute and vocals with other backing music.

Nibbles and mince pies will be provided and of course the bar will be open.

Contrary to popular belief, singing is not just for women, we need male voices too and singing is good for the soul.

Sign up sheets are on the noticeboard at the club and your support of this event will be greatly appreciated.

Courts 7, 8, 9

Tuesday 6-7 pm

Sundays 9-10 am on a needs basis only.

dianeowen2017@gmail.com

These sessions are intended to give people who are not confident to play at social tennis sessions the skills and practice to gain that confidence and/or to provide an opportunity for people who want to play in a more casual environment. New players, players who have not played for a long time, and those returning from injury or illness will find the sessions particularly useful.

What are these sessions like?

– You will be hitting balls along with club volunteers gaining confidence and learning any rules you need to brush up on such as, where to stand, scoring and etiquette.

-You may be playing relaxed games.

-You will meet similar individuals with whom you can arrange your own games at other times.

– The emphasis is on practising and having fun.

Coffee and Cakes Morning Raises £130 for Alzheimer’s Society

On Wednesday June 13 Mary Stanley with the help of Pam held a tennis coffee and cakes morning for the Alzheimer’s Society, raising £130 in three hours. The event began slowly but business soon picked up with hungry tennis players putting down their rackets and having a break. Mary was very grateful to everyone who supported the event.
