Summer Barbecue – 2018

Summer really took off at the club last Saturday [June 23] with the annual barbecue, attended by some 55 people. Guests feasted on traditional barbecue food such as burgers and sausages, before tucking into a variety of desserts, including summer fruits and chocolate cake. They then took to the dance floor with music provided by Diana Owen. A glorious sunset added to the festivity of the evening. Organiser Toni Tucker said the event had gone well and thanked Di and everyone else who had helped with the organising. She also hoped it would encourage members to attend future events.

May through till end of September 2018

Courts 7, 8, 9

Tuesday 6-7 pm

Sundays 9-10 am on a needs basis only.

To attend please contact Di Owen at

These sessions are intended to give people who are not confident to play at social tennis sessions the skills and practice to gain that confidence and/or to provide an opportunity for people who want to play in a more casual environment. New players, players who have not played for a long time, and those returning from injury or illness will find the sessions particularly useful.

What are these sessions like?

– You will be hitting balls along with club volunteers gaining confidence and learning any rules you need to brush up on such as, where to stand, scoring and etiquette.

-You may be playing relaxed games.

-You will meet similar individuals with whom you can arrange your own games at other times.

– The emphasis is on practising and having fun.
