MLTC Club Championships – Singles Only

Dear Member,

As you will be aware the Government and LTA have allowed us to reopen the club for singles only play. As a result we are planning to run a singles only tournament in some categories, with adapted rules, over this summer.

It would be a shame not to have a club championship this summer now that the lock down is being eased and we want to give as many members as possible the opportunity to play competitive tennis over the summer.

Entry deadline is 10th June 2020 and our current hope is to get the tournament playing w/c 22nd June 2020. Please read notes below about how to enter and maximum number of entries.

Regardless of any tournament entries you made earlier in 2020 you will need to re-enter. Finances will be sorted out after the entry deadline reconciling any payments previously made for the club championships.

You can enter online at www.mltc.co.uk/tournaments/club-championships/

Enjoy safe tennis.

Top Awards for Head Coach

Nigel Mann was awarded Berkshire LTA Performance coach of the year and went on to the regional contest. We have just heard he was voted the Central and East Regional Performance coach as well.

We are extremely proud of his accomplishment. We feel fortunate to have such an outstanding coach as our Head Coach.

Helper’s Register

We know you are all busy people but we would like to ask you to spare some time to help with the running of the club. If you could offer just one hour per year of your time it would help enormously and help spread the load amongst members.

Do you have a particular interest, talent, skill set or professional background, which would assist the committee? We want to produce a Helper’s Register so we can call on particular expertise or skills when needed.  We’re sure that everyone must have something to offer. Here are some ideas of things that you could help with:

Setting up events

Helping run events

Putting out bins

Small maintenance jobs

Small gardening jobs

Over the next few weeks Rosie Morton is aiming to talk to as many of you as possible and will be asking you to sign up for just one hour per year or as much time as you think you can offer.

In the meantime if you or a group of you want to offer to help please email Rosie and let her know at:

Alternatively please sign up on the notice board.
